Tuners quickly found that increasing power on the S63 pushed charge air temperatures past the OEM Charge-Air-Coolers' limits resulting in dangerously high Intake Air Temperatures (IATs). Pure turbos approached CSF to develop a Charge-Air-Cooler upgrade that would hold up to the extreme boost levels their turbos upgrades could generate and keep the car's IATs in check. CSF used CFD analysis and testing to create the largest charge-air-cooler that could fit in the factory location.
